Superior Mist
Hiking in fog so dense that you cannot see two feet in front of you, tends to leave you with an eerie feeling. Navigating an already dense forest that is now filled with mist and fog can be quite difficult, especially for our 11 year old dog that’s eyes are failing before her mind is. The forest was completely silent, even our footsteps on the damp ground were silent. It was truly peaceful. We found that cloudy, stormy days are the perfect days to hike, because the silence is deafening and human existence on the trail is next to nonexistent.
