Many know this protruding rock as Mount St. Helens, but it used to be called ‘Louwala-Clough’ or ‘Smoking Mountain’. This volcano has earned this name for being the most active volcano in the Cascade range. It has had 20 eruptive periods over the past 4,000 years.
